Are you ready for the Daemon Invasion?

Over the last couple of weeks, you’ve heard us talking about the upcoming #daemoninvasion and we’re so excited to finally share with you what is going on.

Really excited.
The beautiful and uber cool models, Pepe Toth and Sztella Tziotziosz, who grace the Lux covers, will be joining us in the United States! You heard right. They are flying here, from Hungary to spend a few days as Daemon and Katy! While they are here, they will be working with Vania, from VLC Productions (the team behind Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments, Melissa de La Cruz, Kimberly Derting, Moira Young, Kami Garcia and Margret Stohl, Hillary Duff, Lauren Destefano, and many, many more authors’ book trailers), to film book trailers for the Lux Series.
During the filming in Atlanta, they will be accompanying us on tour! What does that mean? You get to meet them. In the flesh. They will be participating in the signings and events. At those signings, we’ll be giving away signed posters, photos, and other swag. There will also be meet and greet events you can join in on.
At each signing, there will be advanced copies of Onyx given away!
And to top things off (as if this isn’t enough, but we don’t do anything small), there’s something very, very exciting in the works! It involves advanced copies of Opal, water, and a little destination known as the Bahamas.
I am not kidding.

This will be epic.

Are you excited? I am! This tour is going to be so, so much fun, and I’m so thrilled that Pepe and Sztella are a part of it. We owe them a huge thank you and a giant welcome making the 16 hour flight to meet the readers of the Lux Series. You!

The Hollow of Mont Noir

GoodReads Description: Allison Spencer was no stranger to the paranormal. An animal empath, she had the unique capacity to sense the feelings of animals around her - an ability she liked to call "Crittervision." She had never met anyone else with unusual powers and had gotten used to the fact that she was just an eccentric in a world full of normal people.

Allison lived an otherwise ordinary life and was looking forward to finishing high school along with her friends and her boyfriend in her hometown of Ocean City, Maryland. But when her older brother, Logan, suddenly disappeared from a small college town near the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York, Allison's entire world was turned upside down.

Logan still hadn't been found after several months, so Allison's parents decided to move the family to the Hollow of Mont Noir, New York to look for him themselves. In addition to leaving behind her home and her friends and being dumped by her boyfriend, Allison suddenly had to deal with life in a small town, a strange creature that seemed to be stalking her, a new school full of cliques and cattiness, parents who were preoccupied with her missing brother, and an illogical fascination with an outcast boy who didn't tGoodreadsalk to anyone at school.

As Allison settled into her new home, she began to realize that not everything - and everyone - was what they seemed. She soon learned of the existence of supernatural creatures living side-by-side with humans and was faced with a whole new set of questions - and some shocking answers - about herself and her family.

Review:

I thought that The Hollow of Mont Noir was over-all an easy and light read. Our protagonist Allison was a warm hearted and likeable character. She has extraordinary strength in dealing with the trivial high school drama as well as coping with the disappearance of her brother. However, at times her reactions and thoughts were just a tad too mature to pass as a “normal” teenager and to be honest, that hurt the illusion for me. I realize that some teenagers are more mature and that Allison has her “Cittervision” ability as well as the weight of a missing brother on her shoulders to aide in the progression of her maturity, but some of Allison’s reactions reminded me of that of an extremely well-adjusted 40 year old.  We all have selfish moments, teenagers more so than most. I found myself wanting her to get angrier or show her jealous side with a little bit more emotion and that is something I rarely come across while reading the YA genre.

The plotline itself was enjoyable and developed at an easy pace. The author has a very clear talent in transitioning a story smoothly. I especially appreciated the progression of Allison and Riordan’s relationship. It was first love in the purest sense. No insane instant attraction or crazy possessiveness between the two of them which was a nice change. There are obviously some paranormal qualities in this love equation and some unique traditions that have to be honored but that adds some suspense to this story.

The Hollow of Mont Noir isn’t for someone looking for an epic thrill ride but rather an entertaining and easy read.

This song is for my children, that didn't ask to be born into the generational strongholds that have and still plague our family's linage. Words could never express the regret and sorrow I feel for laying these bondage's on their sweet, innocent hearts. For anyone born into circumstances out of their control. For hearts that didn't get or don't get the unconditional love they deserve, there is hope. You are the change. You are the exception. You are chosen and you are loved.

Dauntless by definition mean; FEARLESS, UNDAUNTEDINCAPABLE OF BEING INTIMATED OR DISCOURAGED
Just to give you a better example of what this amazing word/team means, I am also going to list on synonyms for ya!

We believe that justice is more important than peace.
We believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another.
We believe in shouting for those who can only whisper, in defending those who cannot defend themselves.
We do not believe that silence is useful.
We do not believe in limiting the fullness of life.
We do not believe in empty heads, empty mouths, or empty hands.
We do not believe that we should be allowed to stand idly by.
We do not believe that any other virtue is more important than bravery.

Shelly Crane Giveaway!!!

     Cover Reveal

It makes me a tad emotional to reveal the last cover in the Collide Series

Shelly Crane was the reason I decided to give blogging a go. I could not grasp how someone as talented as her did not have books filing up book stores everywhere.
Not only is she an amazing author but an extraordinary person as well.
She loves her fans and goes out of her way to let each one of them know how much their support means to her.
Although I am sad to say goodbye to these brilliant characters (Especially My Merrick) and am excited to see what else Mrs. Shelly Crane had in store for us!

Slide synopsis:

Vee Bell is certain of one irrefutable truth—her sister’s friend Sophie didn’t kill herself. She was murdered.
Vee knows this because she was there. Everyone believes Vee is narcoleptic, but she doesn’t actually fall asleep during these episodes: When she passes out, she slides into somebody else’s mind and experiences the world through that person’s eyes. She’s slid into her sister as she cheated on a math test, into a teacher sneaking a drink before class. She learned the worst about a supposed “friend” when she slid into her during a school dance. But nothing could have prepared Vee for what happens one October night when she slides into the mind of someone holding a bloody knife, standing over Sophie’s slashed body.
Vee desperately wishes she could share her secret, but who would believe her? It sounds so crazy that she can’t bring herself to tell her best friend, Rollins, let alone the police. Even if she could confide in Rollins, he has been acting distant lately, especially now that she’s been spending more time with Zane.
Enmeshed in a terrifying web of secrets, lies, and danger and with no one to turn to, Vee must find a way to unmask the killer before he or she strikes again
